We didn't really do any packing until the day before we left, so we had plenty of things to do before the early morning flight. Clean the house, set the thermostat, empty the fridge...and of course pack our things for the week! I remember the days when I could pack for a week in a small carry on suitcase! Wow, have times changed. 2 checked bags, a carry on, diaper bags and we still tried to pack extra light!! I couldn't even bring my skates which is the one thing I planned on bringing... boo-urns. Now that we had everything packed, where's the 5 people we needed to carry it all?
We called a cab for the next morning at 7:15am for the 10:00 flight. We wanted to get there early in case anything
unexpected happened. Luckily everything went as planned and we got to the airport in good time. Checked our bags and off to our terminal in record time.
Unfortunately, United's flights were not having our same record timing. The flight was delayed about 60 minutes and we were worried that if it was delayed any longer the delays could be even worse since a snow storm was expected to hit at around noon. There were people in our waiting area that were delayed for more that 24 hours! Yikes. Any delays like that and Lauren's going to have 1 cranky baby to deal with...AND have to deal with Milo!
Fortunately for Lauren, there was no cranky baby's to deal with, as our flight left at around 11:15am and we avoided the snow storm.
We were all very excited to see my family, all the kids and my brother's new house. The rest of the Leitao crew was not arriving until the 24th so we would have some time just to visit with my brother and get the grand tour of the house.
